While we're all waiting for the Moto X event to begin later today, it looks like Motorola has pulled the trigger on two tools that will be used with their new flagship phone, as well as the three new DROIDs released last month.
The first, Motorola Connect, is a Chrome extension that allows you to see and respond to notifications from your phone on your desktop. Texts you can respond to right from your desktop, while voice calls you'll still need to use your phone. Here's the description from the app itself:
Motorola Connect allows you to see text messages and calls coming into your Connect enabled phone on your computer’s Chrome browser. You can read and respond to texts using your keyboard and even know who’s calling before deciding if you should reach for your phone.
Motorola Connect is currently supported on Moto X, DROID ULTRA, DROID MAXX and DROID MINI.
Now the second released app is 'Motorola Migrate', a tool designed to make it easy to move your texts, media, settings and other locally stored content to a new Motorola phone. The app also uses a QR code to automate some of the migration which is pretty cool. Odds are we'll see the 'Migrate' app demonstrated at the Moto X even later today or at least discussed.Motorola Migrate in The Google Play StoreMotorola Connect In The Chrome Store
