Griffin Technologies Launches Moto X PowerDock And Vehicle Dock
« on: September 21, 2013, 12:20:18 AM »

Motorola launched a number of accessories along with the Moto X.  From clear and colored cases to wireless speakers and headphones to docks.  Well even though they were announced the Griffin PowerDock and Vehicle Dock weren't available until this week when presto...they landed in both the Motorola site as well as Griffin Technologies' own website.  As the first to market and manufacturer blessed we know a lot of people are going to want to pick up one or both of these.  Now while both were available earlier this week, they quickly sold out at both the Motorola and Griffin Technologies sites.  You can register to get notified when they're back in stock on the Griffin site at the links below.

The PowerDock not only charges your Moto X, it also activates 'Android Daydream' which can be used to display information with the phone standing upright.   When your Moto X is put in the dockthe phone's info display and Touchless Control both activate giving you hands free access to other applications.  You can find out more info at the link below on the Griffin Technologies site than on the Motorola dock page which frankly lacks almost any details about either of these two docks.

The Vehicle Dock is awesome to use your Moto X as either a GPS device or just to make calls and retrieve info while on the road.  As soon as you place your Moto X into the dock it automatically goes into 'Car Mode'.  This does a few things.  First, incoming messages are read aloud using the text to speech capability and of course you can speak commands to your Moto X to activate all kinds of functions.  The dock contains a MicroUSB charging connector so your Moto X maintains full power or charges while you drive.  The large silicon suction cup assures a strong connection to the windshield and the ball and socket joint allow almost limitless positioning.  Again, here's the link to the Moto X Vehicle Dock which has lots more info than the Motorola site.
