I don't know about you, but the customization options I've been most excited about for the Moto X from the time I heard of it are the wood backs.  We've seen plenty of leaks in the past and several pictures of the 4 different types of wood that will be available; Bamboo, Ebony, Rosewood and Teak.  What we haven't seen is any definitive time frame for the arrival of the wood option, although we were told it would be sometime before the end of the year way back when the Moto X was introduced.  Well if a tweet today by a Motorola employee is to be believed it looks like our wait might be coming to an end shortly.

As can be seen in the tweet above, Sinead Carew let slip that while the wood backs won't make it in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, they apparently will be available before the actual holiday season comes upon us.   That makes us think we're looking at within the next couple of weeks or so.   The wood back options will reported cost an extra $50 upon purchase.  Not a bad price if you want to stand out in a crowd with a wood Moto X.

Now there's one more little tidbit that seems to have been discovered today thanks to some sleuthing by the guys over at Droid-Life.  Apparently, upon perusing the Motorola website they came across a new 'Gold' color option that had not been listed before.   It's not entirely clear if this is a new back cover or trim but it's definitely new and could be an interesting new edition for those that have been suffering from a bit of iPhone envy with their gold option.  As for me?  I'll take an Ebony backed Moto X thank you very much...and I've got my cash ready...
