A couple of tech sites this afternoon are reporting they've received some 'inside info' regarding the pricing structure that Motorola and Google plan for the Moto X...and if true it's a great sign for consumers.  Apparently what AndroidCommunity and Gizmofusion are both hearing is that the 16GB Moto X will start at $299 off-contract and the 32GB will come in at $349 off-contract.   With a two year wireless commitment prices are likely to come in at $99 for the 16GB and $149 for the 32GB.  Now these prices compare to the 8GB Nexus 4 at $299 and 16GB at $349, both off-contract.   These prices make sense if we think about the hints that Google and Motorola have given that they want to make a phone available at a price point for the masses.

The Moto X will have specs and capabilities at 'near' flagship levels yet apparently be priced at half the cost.   That should make the Moto X very competitive in the market and have the iPhone 5,  Galaxy S4 and HTC One in their sights.   While the processor might be slightly less powerful than the flagships, the super quick GPU along with software optimization and the contextual tricks should wow consumers enough so that they won't care their not getting the absolute bleeding edge cpu.   What say you forum members?  Do these prices excite you?  And oh yes...those are two more new images of the Moto X courtesy of our friends over at AndroidPolice.

Look'n good. I'll have to dive for the $299 OC as I want to keep what I got. 16gigs would work for me. Wondering how long the lines will be for an order LOL

Would be nice if the carriers have a discount for people buying phones off contract.

Okay, so the DROID Series just released today.  According to Reuters[/color], the full retail prices of the DROID line are,
Quote
Verizon said the full retail price would be $499 for the Mini, $599 for the Ultra and $699 for the Maxx.

But the on contract breakdown is
Quote
The phones, the Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx will go on sale for $99, $199 and $299 for customers who sign a two year contract and will be available in Verizon stores August 20, according to Verizon Wireless

So just a wild guess, but the $299 price point off contract for the Moto X looks pretty solid.  Just wanted to throw that one in there.
