Wired Moto X Review: A Taste Of Tomorrow
« on: August 10, 2013, 10:22:39 AM »

Those of you looking to read a cool review this weekend that gives a little more insight and 'big picture' to the Moto X than most should check out Mathew Honan's reveiw in Wired Magazine.  Now, what's really interesting about this review isn't just that Mathew genuinely likes the Moto X and appreciates both its hardware and software features.  He also understands the 'big picture' of what Motorola and Google are trying to do and he has the imagination to see where it will go.   Just about every one of the notable features of the Moto X represents an improvement over the standard smartphone of today; from being able to give commands to your Moto X through voice commands alone, to the innovative notifications screen, to the quick flick camera opening feature to Moto Assist, and the way the Moto X 'knows' you're in a car and caters its functions to the environment.

Mathew sees the potential in each of these features and gives concrete examples of how in future iterations of the Moto X he'd like...and can see the theme being taken even further.  As it stands now, it's obvious he's quite smitten with his black Moto X and is really looking forward to the color customizations when they become available.  Definitely worth the read by a guy who 'gets it' when it comes to the Moto X.  He says that some of the features are genuinely 'amazing' and says about the Moto X:  'itís great. Itís wonderful. An all around wonderful phone. An excellent Android phone.'  ...but you get the sense the Moto X will eventually become...either through software updates or future iterations...extraordinary.  Read the review yourself at the link below.

What I really like after going into the review was the insert "OK Wired, Show More Moto X"  and 'how the moto x came to be' was a great story. "Ok, Google Now... where are you going with AI?"

The biggest thing that the Moto X has going for it is potential.  Because the X8 processing unit isn't locked in to any one processor, it can use any processor on the market for future iterations.  The software features can be tweaked in the future with updates.  There will always be room for improvement, and the Moto X offers on that.
