Allow Calendar Notifications with Motorola Assist in Sleep Mode?
« on: September 09, 2013, 12:49:13 PM »
Does anyone know how to make notifications from Google Calendar make noises when Motorola Assist has put the phone in sleep mode?  Basically I want to use the Calendar as an alarm.

I tried using just normal notifications, no go.

I tried using SMS and adding it to my contacts as a favorite and checking allow favorites, no go (apparently it only allows calls through, not txts, to make sounds).

Thoughts?  I talked to Motorola about it and they don't have a way to but added it to their suggestions list.  I was wondering if anyone found a work around.

thanks,

I just got my moto x and am surfing the forums. My only question on this post is why not just use the alarm clock?

"alarm clock extreme" will allow the alarm to sound even if the phone is in silent mode, maybe it will also work in your case.

I do use the alarm clock currently but it means I have to set it up for each day and then change it every week to make it work. Whereas using my calendar would mean it would just pick up my schedule automatically and wake me.  Which is why I prefer the calendar as opposed to the alarm clock.

Without moto assist can you get it to work?  Sounds like a moto assist issue...

It does, but i want moto assist to block the rest of the sounds like email notifications, calls, texts etc. just not calendar.

Okay, I don't think hush will work. But.........what about a third party alarm clock like alarm clock plus from the play store.

Is there a 3rd party alarm that uses the calendar to set alarms? because I don't want to have to set alarms in addition to my calendar events.

The rep i talked to on the phone put in a request for it to be added as a feature to the dev team.  Oddly enough the phone was developed 30 mins from my house lol.
