AnandTech Moto X Review
« on: August 27, 2013, 09:24:32 AM »
This is one of my favorite sites to see what's come up in the tech world and other blah-blah news. Brian Klug really digs in on this review of the Moto X so if you can get through on his take of "...now the question is how the device really stacks up to the competition" there will be lots of comparative charts and diagrams comparing the Moto X with other "top shelf" phones. Also what I found interesting is the call quality test sample.

Just read the AnandTech review.  Really great review.  Detailed, well thought out, fair.   In the end he really likes it, even calls it potentially 'disruptive' to the market.  Except for his issues with pricing it's hard to get a better review from Klug than that.

Well I think we'll have to wait and see how the next few months go.  If we start seeing Moto Xs in all kinds of colors in coffee shops and buses around town then I guess it's a hit.  If we never see them...then I guess not.

With all the phones you see nowadays, if it's green, purple, orange, or ? then there's a good chance it's a X. Those black n white ones will just blend into the masses. You'll have to be looking for 'um.

Oh...unless their made out of ebony :P

Just ran across yet another review but this had a compelling footnote that could make some sense. It is a week old.

from geek.com

Update 8/22/13: We’ve edited this review to reflect significant changes found in the Moto Maker version of the Moto X. It is our belief that our initial review was based on pre-production hardware, and while we are currently waiting for a response from Motorola regarding the differences in the two Moto X phones we’ve tested, we wanted to update our thoughts on this device. The changes primarily took form in an improved display and camera as well as slightly improved hardware on the second Moto X we received (the Moto Maker version).

Now it that holds water, could make a difference in the camera's ability to take shots that aren't so washed out. They might just have tweaked the camera's settings after pumping out 1st runs of the b/w models that reviewers used and ATT first time buyers (and maybe VZW people) will get.
