Moto X Size Compared to Other Phones
« on: July 24, 2013, 09:47:50 PM »
Ran across this Reddit link showing a quick comparison .jpg of the Moto X to other phones out there.

Based on all the leaks and measurements it's possible to make a pretty accurate comparison. If you're interested in how the Moto X's size is going to compare to your phone (or a phone you're thinking about), here you go. http://i.imgur.com/nkBIZBA.jpg

The black boxes are a comparison of screen sizes (which include on screen buttons, if they exist)

Not a bad size at all. I prefer the smaller size myself. Easier to pull out of pocket.

I like my 4.3 size. I have used a galaxy nexus which is 4.65? And that it's almost too big. I hope it won't bother me in the moto x as much.

Personally for me 5" is the sweet spot and anything more I would classify a phablet...

Agreed, if I didn't have a laptop or a tablet, a phablet would be perfect.  I appreciate a smaller phone.  4.7 is a good compromise.

My Rezound is 4.3 and since it's my first smartphone, I'm comfy with it.  Agree with dBuster on the 4.7 tops. I saw my first Galaxy Note 2 the other day chatting with a DWP worker who goes up mountains and climbs up radio towers. Man, that phone has a NICE screen. For me and my needs though it's way too big but did enjoy watching him giggle over it showing me a portion of the hundreds of photos he's taken. "It's good for us guys with old eyes." That got my laughing and agreeing with him. "I haven't even dropped it...yet", he said. LOL

The same reddit thread had a couple of additional mockups assuming slightly larger screen sizes:

4.7": http://i.imgur.com/skdxBOf.jpg

I think the 4.7" is the correct sizing (total screen, incl onscreen buttons), based on one image that leaked with a ruler and a youtube video actually from a few months ago (it keeps getting reuploaded) that briefly shows the x next to an iphone.

At any size, it looks like a very tightly packaged phone.  Not a ton of wasted space there.
