Differences in appearance. Why?
« on: February 09, 2014, 03:39:49 AM »
My wife and I both just got new Moto X's 2 days ago. We both upgraded to the latest Kit Kat OS (4.4.2?) Already, though I'm noticing some small but curious differences:
-Her status bar(signal strength, 4G indicator, chg indicator, etc) is blue in color. Mine is white. In the instructions (yes,  I actually read them), it says that once your device is linked to a Google acct, the indicators will be blue. My device is linked, but still white. Any ideas why?
-If each of us taps the dialer icon (the one that looks like a phone) mine brings up what looks like some (maybe 3) recent call activity entries.  If I touch the dialer icon at the bottom, it brings up the dial keypad, but only half-screen so that I can still see the recent activity...and I hate it. Hers, as soon as she hits the dialer icon, she gets a full-screen dial keypad. I've tried to change the view on mine, but to no avail. Doesn't seem to be in the settings, unless I'm missing it. Any ideas why?
-Also noticed that our icons for Settings are different. Mine looks like a gear, hers is some box with little slider lines in it. Any ideas why?
These kinds of inconsistencies in tech gear irk me...and we got identical phones at the very same time! Anyone with any input, please chime in.

Sounds like her phone did not update because all the things you said were different are the changes from jellybean to kitkat. Look in the settings to verify system version.
