Volume Control
« on: October 08, 2014, 01:11:42 PM »
I have "graduated" from my Droid Razr Maxx to the new 2014 Moto X.  On the Razr Maxx I was able to go into Settings-Sound-Volumes and there were separate slide controls for Ringtone and Notifications so I was able to turn the volume down or off for Notifications while leaving the Ringer on.
This came in handy at night so I would not be awakened by every text and email, but if someone needed to call me they could get through.
With the 2014 Moto X, when I go into Settings-Sound-Volumes, they have combined the Ringtones and Notifications into one slide control, so it's all or nothing which is quite disappointing.
I have read that you can set it for everything to be off and you can select it to ring for contacts that you designate, but I do not have a preference of who might be calling, I would like them to be able to call and have the ringer ring.  Would  I need to designate each contact separately?
I also do not want them to have to call several times in succession just to get through.
Is there anyway to control them separately so I can achieve the result of no notification sounds but ringer is left on?

Thank you in advance for an assistance.
